he said i was doing 75 in a 55 and i just want to make sure that my ticket won't be 500 dollars because i have never heard of that for a speeding ticket. he said that it would be but i think he was lying. i thought maybe because i was on an intersate. if anyone could help me that would be great. thanks
A-Best: In NY, the minimum fine for going 20 miles over the speed limit is $180, the maximum is $300. 'Fines may vary for speeding in school zone or restricted highway. Fines are doubled in work zones.' I'm sure there are even more ways thay can raise the fine.
Small chart of speeding fines on here:

A: The officer issuing a speeding ticket does NOT know what the fine will be. Every judge is different, some 'sock it to you' and others might give you a break.
A: He might be right. First you get the speeding ticket itself, then they charge you so much for each mile over. Your looking at around $400-$500...sorry. Plead no contest not quilty! Good Luck!
A: Out of experience I would suggest trying to get out of the ticket. I bought a guide to beating speeding tickets that actually worked for $30. The only reason I bought the guide is because it was 100% guaranteed. It ended up working and being a lot cheaper than paying the ticket and having my insurance rates go up.
