Question:

Am I 37 weeks pregnant or 35?
My boyfriend works away so we didnt concieve until I seen him on January 22nd however the midwives are going off my LMP which was the 5th January, so does this mean my baby should be expected at 42 weeks?

A-Best: No, you are 37 weeks. The 40 weeks of pregnancy actually begins on the first day of your last period not on the day you conceived.  

A: Go with what your midwives are saying. I wondered the same thing but your LMP is how they accurately figure your due date. I remember being surprised at how far along I was according to the doctors' calculations, as well! Just enjoy being two weeks ahead of what you thought and congrats!  

A: you are 37 weeks. They should go off your last known period and you would expect to have your baby around 40 weeks, not 42 (unless it's late or early then it can come usually arond 37-42). But once you his 40, they may induce you.  

A: You work it out from your LMP. So that would make you 37weeks. You should give birth at 40 weeks but now, so many women are going over their due date and have to be induced! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! :-)

A: I'm having the same problem! It's like they don't want to believe that you know when you got pregnant! You are-for all intents and purposes-37 weeks. They had to pick a standardized way of deciding when babies would come and the 1st day of last period was it! Mainly because they can prove at that point you WEREN"T pregnant! Now, with my 1st pregnancy I also knew the date of conception and when my daughter was overdue by two weeks I was the only one that wasn't worried! And here she came-2 weeks on the dot over her due date! This time I don't think I'll get so lucky since its twins but every baby is different and they are going to come when it's their time! Just start being ready about when the drs say 38 weeks and then you won't be taken by surprise! Good Luck!  

A: My LMP was January 4. We conceived the 18th. I am 37w,4d pregnant. So yes you would be 37w and your baby should be born the middle of October.
